Meet the staff ...

Though the original idea to start the orpanage was Lefort Jean-Louis', he obviously could never care for the number of children now at the orphanage alone. Soon he found he needed to hire additonal staff members to assiste with day to day operations.

Below are the current staff members at Maison Fortuné Orphanage:

• Lefort Jean-Louis : Founder and Director of Maison Fortuné Orphanage. It sometimes seems he is the only one the children will really listen to. As soon as he steps a foot onto the orphanage grounds the boys somehow sense it and correct their behavior.
  
  


• Pettris Joseph : With the continued growth of the orphanage Jean-Louis felt that the time had come to get an assistant and in the Fall of 2004 Pettris Joseph joined the staff here at Maison Fortuné Orphanage. As Jean-Louis' Assistant Director, Pettris has been a great help in assisting with the day-to-day operations as well as taking charge during Jean-Louis' occasional fund raising trips. With the completion of the new school building in 2006, Pettris also took on the added responsibility as School Principal.
  
  

Along with Pettris as the acting principal, the orphanage also now employees seven full time teachers each responsible for all subject matter (math, spelling, reading, writing, etc) within their particular grade level. The teaching staff have have all done a wonderful job in teaching the children, preparing them for the next grade level as well as secondary school. The teachers (pictured below from left to right) are Rosemarie Joseph - 2nd Grade, Gertha Jean-Baptiste - 5th Grade, Wagner Denscar - 6th Grade, Eliacumene Isaac - Pre School, Petris Joseph-Principal, Guerdie Louis - 3rd Grade, Lasaine Desir - 4th Grade and Germanise Gauthier - 1st Grade.

As you can imagine, it takes a great deal of time and effort to care for this many children. Fortunately Jean-Louis and the children have been blessed with a small staff of individuals who are all very dedicated to seeing that the children are provided for. In addition to the teaching staff, there are thirteen additional staff members at the orphanage. Each with their own speciality, yet all working together to keep things running.
