Maison Fortuné is a faith based Christian orphange following the Catholic beliefs, sacraments, and social teachings in caring for the children of Haiti. While it is hoped that the orphanage can one day be a self-supporting entity, it is not currently able to do so and must still rely almost entirely on the generosity of others to continue its mission. For this reason Jean-Louis and others are continuously searching for additional support from individuals and groups alike.

As you can imagine, the expenses involved with running an orphanage can be enormous. The children need food, shelter, clothing and medical care. There are the expenses for the various supplies that are needed, such as school supplies, personal hygiene items, gardening supplies, and many other miscellaneous items required for the day-to-day operation of the orphanage. There are the costs involved for the much needed repairs and the expansion of the facilities and though it is only a meager wage, the staff must also be paid so that they may care for their own families.

Jean-Louis and the children have been blessed with many donations and offerings of help. From the individuals, families, parishes and groups who have made donations, to those who have volunteered their time helping their local group or parish with a fundraiser and in some cases even traveled to help out at the orphanage. Jean-Louis and all of the children at Maison Fortuné Orphanage are extremely greatful to each and every one of you. Without all of your help and generosity we could not continue to provide for the children and could never have accomplished so much.

While we have made great progress, there is still much to be done and there are many ways in which one can help.

Would you like to show your support for the children, but are unable to make a personal financial contribution? There are plenty of other ways which you can help!

Supplies for the children
The orphanage is always in need of many items. Everything from clothing, blankets, medications to school supplies, books and even toys are always in great demand. While it is possible for donors to ship items to the orphanage, it is generally recommended and more economical to purchase supplies locally in Haiti avoiding high shipping and customs fees. If you feel you or someone you know may be able to help, please contact us.

Help us get the word out!
It is said that "with many hands, the load is not heavy".
So please be sure to tell your family members, friends and even your co-workers about Maison Fortuné Orphanage and the issues facing the children and all of Haiti. The more people we are able to make aware, the greater the support we can provide.

Please pray for the children
